Social Welfare Law (Money Advice) Adviser/ Trainee

Salary Experienced, starting at £19,819 (dependent on experience and accreditation) 
Trainee: £17,173 – £19,446
Hours 35 hours per week
Location Working across Bury & Bolton, and designated outreaches as required

Citizens Advice Bury & Bolton is an independent, impartial and not-for-profit charity. As an organisation, we provide free, confidential, independent and impartial advice and information. 

Our services are focused on supporting communities who are most vulnerable and those who are locked out of the welfare system, or on the verge of being excluded. 

We can help with housing and welfare benefit issues or deal with queries about immigration and/ or community care issues. We can advise on legal matters, answer questions about money advice too. We also have lots of experience on family and personal matters too. 

We have a strong, client focused team of paid staff and volunteers.

The post holder will work as part of a well-established team, providing a reliable and effective money advice service, across all advice channels and access points, utilised by Citizens Advice Bury & Bolton.

As a Money Adviser/ Trainee, the post holder will:

a) Direct delivery of support and legal advice to clients on money advice and debt issues, via the full range of delivery channels offered by Citizens Advice Bury & Bolton
b) Complying with all quality standards and contract expectations
c) Develop and maintain strong working relationships with colleagues across all levels of Citizens Advice Bury & Bolton, and beyond
d) Maintain understanding & awareness of wider social welfare law issues.
