Social Welfare Law Adviser (Housing)

Citizens Advice Bury & Bolton is a busy, dynamic and client focused service, with a track record of delivering high quality legal advice. Clients are engaged via a range of advice channels and access points.

The post holder will be required to work across the Bury and Bolton districts, ensuring a dynamic and client focused housing advice service is provided. The successful candidate will hold a caseload of clients, deliver one off pieces of advice/ information through our busy drop-in sessions and engage with clients via telephone. 

Our housing team is busy, often working to tight deadlines for the best interests of our clients. The successful candidate will join our small housing team, primarily funded by Legal Aid. 

Are you:

  • An experienced housing adviser?
  • Client focused?
  • Flexible to ensure client needs are met?
  • Able to manage a varied workload, often led by deadlines and emergencies?
  • Open to learning and receiving balanced feedback?

We will also accept applications from non-experienced candidates, who can demonstrate transferable skills as a trainee.

We are seeking a committed and outgoing individual to join our established money advice team.

This role involves enabling clients to access quality, impartial advice, information and guidance associated with all matters connected with money advice, debt and financial inclusion.  

The post holder will be required to work across the Bury and Bolton districts, ensuring a dynamic and client focused money advice service is provided. The successful candidate will hold a caseload of clients, deliver one off pieces of advice/ information through our busy drop-in sessions and engage with clients via telephone and webchat.

Salary: Experienced starting at £19,819 (dependent upon experience)
Trainee: £17,173 – £19,446
Hours: 35 hours per week
Location: Working across Bury & Bolton, and designated outreaches as required
