Introducing our new Senior Leadership Team
Citizens Advice Bury & Bolton (CABB) is pleased to introduce our new Senior Leadership Team (SLT).
Collectively, the new SLT, and wider colleagues across CABB, will build on the successes and achievements of colleagues who made significant contributions, but have moved onto pastures new.
The last 18-months has been a period of change and development across CABB – with new members joining the Board of Trustees, including the appointment of key roles onto the board, with a new Chair, Vice-Chair and Treasurer all appointed in the last 12-months. Additionally, the new Chief Executive Officer who was formally appointed in September 2023.
Working with the Board of Trustees and CEO, the new SLT team consists of:
Deputy CEO & Head of Advice – Robert (Rob) West
Rob has an established career with CABB. He initially joined CABB (Bolton & District CAB as it was then) as a volunteer in 2008. He soon moved into paid employment, developing and taking on additional responsibilities as Money Advice Supervisor and, more recently as our Money Advice and Energy Services Manager.
When asked what he is most looking forward to in the role, Rob said:
“I am looking forward to growing our partnerships with both new and existing organisations across the community, whilst ensuring those who need our services receive consistent, high quality legal advice delivered by trained professionals.
Having worked within Bolton and Bury for over 16 years, I am keen to use the knowledge and expertise within the organisation to help our communities thrive.”
Rob has the following primary responsibilities:
- Ensure our advice services meet local need, consistently delivered and developed to meet client expectations, contractual and regulatory requirements.
- Ensure that client needs remain at the heart of the service.
- Ensure delivery of high-quality advice services across multiple channels, maximising engagement and access.
- Develop and maintain stakeholder relationships and deputise for the CEO in their absence.
Head of People & Operations – Catrin (Cat) Aherne
Cat joins CABB from a place-based youth charity in Manchester, where she was most recently Head of People & Business Operations. Cat has worked in the charity sector for over 10 years, predominantly in people & training focused roles.
When asked what she is most looking forward to in the role, Cat said:
“Having joined at such an exciting time for the organisation, I’m looking forward to working with the teams to enhance and develop the back-office and support functions which will enable staff and volunteers to thrive in their roles while delivering a brilliant service for our local communities.”
Cat has the following primary responsibilities:
- Act as the internal lead on all HR related matters, ensuring the continual development of those employed and volunteering with CABB.
- Senior lead for all resources (including premises and cloud-based infrastructure) ensuring effectiveness and legislative compliance.
- Support the continued development of our finance systems and processes.
- Support organisational compliance with accreditation, contractual and regulatory obligations.
