Gary Malcomson has been appointed as Chief Executive at Citizens Advice Bury & Bolton
(CABB) and formally commenced the role in September.

Mike Walker, Chair of the Board of Trustees at Citizens Advice Bury & Bolton, said:

“The board of Trustees are delighted to formally appoint Gary as our Chief Executive Officer,
following a period as interim. Gary is passionate about providing quality services to our local
communities. I, along with the wider Board of Trustees, look forward to working with Gary
as he leads CABB as a local provider of high-quality, independent advice.”

As newly appointed Chief Executive, Gary said:

“It is a privilege to be appointed CEO Citizens Advice Bury & Bolton – a service, which plays
such an important role across the local area, particularly at a time when the need for advice
continues to rise.”

Gary, who lives in Radcliffe, joined Citizens Advice Bolton in August 2015 and was
instrumental in bringing together the two separate Bury & Bolton offices, creating Citizens
Advice Bury & Bolton in 2019 through formal merger.

Prior to joining Citizens Advice, Gary held a number of roles across a range of adult and
young person’s substance use recovery services in West Yorkshire and Greater Manchester.
