Citizens Advice Bury & Bolton is an independent, impartial and not-for-profit charity. As an organisation, we provide free, confidential, independent and impartial advice and information.
Our services are focused on supporting communities who are most vulnerable and those who are locked out of the welfare system, or on the verge of being excluded.
We can help with housing and welfare benefit issues or deal with queries about immigration and/ or community care issues. We can advise on legal matters, answer questions about money advice too. We also have lots of experience on family and personal matters too.
We have a strong, client focused team of paid staff and volunteers.
Citizens Advice Bury & Bolton is a busy, dynamic and client focused service, with a track record of delivering high quality advice. Clients are engaged via a range of advice channels and access points.
Without doubt, the Covid-19 pandemic has had a huge impact on our local communities. This has led to a 64% increase in the volume of employment related enquiries received by Citizens Advice Bury & Bolton (in comparison to the same period in 2019). This demand is expected to continue its upward trajectory for the foreseeable.
To meet demand and adopt our services to meet the needs of local communities, we are creating a new role and expanding the advice delivery team.
The post holder will be able to manage a demanding and varied workload and take a lead on developing a new specialist subject area within Citizens Advice Bury & Bolton. You will work as part of the Leadership Team, reporting directly to the Director of Advice Services.
The post holder will be required to work across all advice channels including digital, face to face and telephone, and various activity centres providing employment advice to clients, while simultaneously developing our team of advisers and trainees (where we are able to expand our employment advice further).
